General Purpose Diodes are two-terminal devices that allow current to flow in only one direction, from an anode to a cathode. These diodes are suitable for low frequency & low-speed applications, where the reverse recovery time is not critical. The reverse recovery time is the finite amount of time taken by a diode to discharge (during conducting state, it stored the charges) when switching from the conducting to the blocking state.
General Purpose Diodes are ideal for use in applications such as general-purpose switching, voltage clamping, reverse polarity protection, automotive, communication, UPS, battery chargers, welding, and traction.
