Bourns Unveils PPTC Resettable Fuses for High Power Industrial Applications

Bourns, a leading provider of electronic components, has introduced its latest innovation, the Model MF-RHS High Temperature Radial Leaded Polymer Positive Temperature Coefficient (PPTC) Resettable Fuse Series. This new series offers a range of Ihold current ratings from 3.5 A to 13.0 A at a maximum rated voltage of 16 V, with a maximum rated current of 100 A and an impressive operating temperature of up to 125°C.

The Model MF-RHS Series caters to applications requiring high working temperatures and high-power ratings, particularly in motor and industrial settings. Its key features include higher hold current ratings ( Ihold), improved resistance stability, higher maximum current ratings (Imax), and a smaller PPTC chip size, all achieved through Bourns' innovative design.

Some of the notable features of the Model MF-RHS Series include:

  • Operating temperature range up to 125°C
  • Higher hold currents at elevated temperatures
  • Low thermal derating factor
  • RoHS compliant and halogen-free
  • UL and CSA recognized

The applications of these new resettable fuses are diverse, ranging from electronic equipment operating at high temperatures to EMI suppression, HVAC systems, power distribution, and electronic control unit (ECU) protection. With this launch, Bourns expands its offerings to meet the demanding requirements of modern electronic and industrial applications.
