Kinetic Technologies Introduces Bidirectional Load Switch IC for Portable Applications

Kinetic Technologies has introduced KTS1652, a low resistance, bi-directional high current load switch. It is equipped with over-voltage protection, over-temperature protection, and an integrated TVS suppressor. The integrated TVS at VBUS is rated up to IEC61000-4-5 ±200 V surge voltage and IEC61000-4-2 Level 4 electrostatic discharge, which protects the downstream components from abnormal input conditions.

When VBUS is greater than VUVLO_BUS, the integrated LDO provides an “always ON” power source at the BUS_DET pin. The BUS_DET voltage is regulated to typically 4.0 V, regardless of the status of ENB, to power downstream components permitting operation without an installed battery.
