RECOM Power Introduces AC-DC Converters for Industrial and E-Mobility Applications

RECOM has unveiled its RAC04NE-K series of encapsulated AC-DC converters, designed to deliver a continuous power output of 4 W without derating across a wide input range of 100 V_AC to 277 V_AC. These converters operate reliably in extreme temperatures from -40°C to +80°C and can handle peak power demands of up to 6 W for limited durations. These characteristics make the modules suitable for a wide range of demanding but cost-sensitive applications including building/home automation, lighting, datacom/telecom, e-mobility, industrial, and many more. Additional features include Class II insulation, OVC III rating to 3000 m, enhanced line transient immunity, and compliance with conducted EMI standard EN55032 Class B, with a floating or ground-connected output.

The fully regulated output voltages available are 5, 9, 12, 15, and 24 V. The products are offered in a through-hole PCB mount format, 37 x 24 x 18 mm. Selected models are also wired with mounting lugs, 37.8 x 24.8 x 18.7 mm, encapsulated, and IP65-rated.

Comprehensive safety and EMC certifications are held for various end applications, and the products feature secure protection against overload, short circuits, and output overvoltage. Build quality is high to ensure reliable operation in demanding environments, with a calculated MTBF of over 2M hours at 40°C according to MIL-HDBK-217, GB conditions. The design lifetime is over 12 years at 230 V_AC, full load, and 50°C ambient temperature, backed up by the RECOM three-year warranty.
