The HL7132WL01 from Halo Microelectronics is a Dual-Phase Fast Direct Charger IC that is designed to enable 1 cell Li-ion and Li-based polymer batteries. It requires an input voltage from 5.5 V to 11.7 V. This Battery Management IC (BMIC) consists of a dual-phase switched capacitor converter and a reverse blocking MOSFET (QRB FET). The switched capacitor architecture and MOSFETs integrated into this BMIC are optimized to provide a duty cycle of 50% during charge pump (CP) mode. It provides constant current regulation from QRB FET during the CP mode and is controlled through a closed loop of current sensing or battery current sensing. This fast charger IC utilizes a built-in 10-bit ADC chip that transmits information such as input voltage, output voltage, battery voltage, and die temperature to the system to optimize charging control operation.

The HL7132WL01 offers over-temperature protection (OTP), over-voltage protection (OVP), under-voltage protection (UVLO), and a watchdog timer to prevent short-circuit-related damages. This battery charger IC is available in a wafer-level package that measures 2.95 x 2.6 mm and is ideal for smartphones, tablet PCs, and mobile IoT applications.
