The TDM3885XUMA1 from Infineon Technologies is a Point-of-Load Buck DC-DC Converter that steps down an input voltage of 4.7 - 14 V to an output voltage of 0.5 - 5 V. It provides a switching frequency of 600 kHz and has an efficiency of up to 95%. This converter consists of a PWM controller, multiple MOSFETs, and an inductor that provides a space-efficient and accurate power delivery solution. It can operate either in forced continuous mode (FCCM) or diode emulation mode (DEM) during light loads to reduce power consumption. This DC-DC converter enters low quiescent current mode during ultra-light load conditions to enable efficient standby power supply devices.

The TDM3885XUMA1 utilizes an IPOL engine that integrates constant on-time control (COT) with proprietary internal ramp compensation to ensure device stability. This RoHS-compliant converter consists of pre-bias startup, internal soft-start, over-voltage protection (OVP), and over-temperature protection (OTP) circuitries to prevent short-circuit-related damages. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 3.1 x 3.8 x 2.3 mm and is ideal for servers, computing devices, memory storage, communications infrastructure, distributed Point-of-Load (POL) power architectures, and general DC-DC converter applications.
