The BD7F105EFJ-CE2 from ROHM Semiconductor is an Automotive-Qualified, Opto-Coupler-less Flyback DC-DC Converter IC that converts an input voltage of 3.2 – 42 V to an output voltage of 60 V. It has a switching frequency of 363 kHz. This AEC-Q100-qualified converter eliminates the need for an optocoupler and the third winding of the transformer, which results in reduced component count. It allows for the setting of the output voltage using two external resistors and the ratio of transformer turns. This isolated converter adopts original, adapted ON-time control technology, providing fast load response and high efficiency in light load mode through pulse frequency modulation (PFM) operation. It includes a shutdown function with enable control, a built-in switching MOSFET, a frequency spectrum spread, a soft start function, and a load compensation function. This converter is equipped with input low voltage lockout (UVLO), over-current protection (OCP), thermal shutdown (TSD), REF pin open protection (REFOPEN), short circuit protection (SCP), and battery short protection (BSP) to prevent over-load-related damages. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 4.9 x 6.0 x 1.0 mm and is ideal for automotive-isolated power supplies and industrial-isolated power supply applications.
