The VSC100-283R3S/ES+ from VPT is a Radiation Tolerant DC-DC Converter that converts an input voltage of 16 - 40 V to an output voltage of 3.3 V. It delivers an output power of up to 66 W and has an efficiency of 85%. This converter is a commercial-off-the-shelf solution that is designed for the NewSpace market. It guarantees optimal performance through the use of radiation lot acceptance tested (RLAT) components and uses proprietary packaging technologies to create a dual-side heatsinking option with very low outgassing. It is radiation-tested for single event effects (SEE) to 42 MeV/mg/cm2, tested to 40 krad (Si), and ensures withstanding capability up to 30 krad (Si) for total ionizing dose (TID) in accordance with VPT’s in-house radiation hardness assurance (RHA) plan. This DC-DC converter provides fixed frequency with very low output noise, enabling accurate frequency synchronization. It can be connected to five different units in parallel to share current and does not require separate opto-isolators for isolation, which greatly simplifies the overall design. 

This converter is equipped with under-voltage lockout (UVLO), short-circuit protection (SCP), and current limit protection to prevent false trigger and over-current-related damages. It is available in a low-profile through-hole package that measures 2.350 x 1.550 x 0.410 inches and is ideal for NASA class-D missions and low earth orbit (LEO) small satellite applications.
