The MS22 30005 from Ametherm is an Inrush Current Limiter that is ideal for inrush current protection of power supplies, motor controllers, audio amplifiers, battery chargers, frequency generators, plasma cutting tools,  MRI machines, and, toroidal transformers applications. It has been certified for operation using single- and three-phase input voltage levels of up to 680 V with a current rating of 5 A. This current limiter has a resistance of 30 ohms. It can withstand high steady-state currents of up to 36 A and an input energy of less than 300 J, thereby improving safety by reducing failure associated with malfunctioning relays. This flame-retardant-compliant current limiter greatly simplifies the design to reduce costs, making it a one-component alternative to using wirewound resistors with timers and relays. It is available in a through-hole package that measures 61 x 23 mm.
