The XC6210 Series from Torex Semiconductor are High-Speed CMOS Voltage Regulators that are ideal for optical disk drives, magnetic disk drives, digital still cameras/camcorders, digital audio equipment, and multi-function power supply applications. They require an input voltage of 1.5 - 6 V. These regulators provide an output voltage of 0.8 - 5 V and have a dropout voltage of 50 mV. They are manufactured using Torex’s CMOS process and consist of a voltage reference, an error amplifier, a current limiter, and a phase compensation circuit with a driver transistor. These voltage regulators use a low on-resistance driver transistor that allows batteries to be used until input-output voltage differential is minimal, thereby enabling them to operation over a longer time. They also utilize low equivalent series resistance (ESR) ceramic capacitors which offer added output stability. These regulators can drive the internal regulator circuit into stand-by mode via the CE function, resulting in reduced power consumption. They are available in surface-mount packages.
