The MP6535GU-Z from Monolithic Power Systems is a Three Phase Brushless DC Motor Pre-Driver IC. It requires an input voltage of 5 - 55 V and has an output current of up to 1 A. This motor driver is capable of driving three half bridges consisting of six N-channel power MOSFETs up to 55 V. It includes a buck regulator to generate local power for a microcontroller or other circuitry. This motor driver integrates a regulated charge pump to generate gate drive power and uses a bootstrap capacitor to generate a supply voltage for the high-side MOSFET driver. It incorporates built-in Hall sensor inputs and utilizes 120° commutation logic for efficient control of three-phase brushless DC motors.

This motor driver includes a bootstrap high-side driver with a trickle-charge circuit to support 100% duty cycle operation. It benefits from internal protection features including programmable short-circuit protection, overcurrent protection, adjustable dead-time control, undervoltage lockout, and thermal shutdown. This motor driver is available in a surface-mount package (with an exposed thermal pad) that measures 5 x 5 mm and is ideal for 3-phase brushless DC motors and permanent magnet synchronous motors, e-bikes, and power drill applications.
