The BD64220EFV from ROHM Semiconductor is a 2-Channel H-Bridge Brush Motor Driver IC that has been designed for 2 DC brush motors or a bipolar stepping motor. It requires an input voltage of 8 - 46.2 V and provides an output current of up to 2 A. This motor driver includes an H-bridge power DMOS FET, a control logic circuit, a pre-driver for H-Bridge DMOS FET, a regulator, protection circuits, and a timing oscillator. It uses a direct pulse width modulation (PWM) or a PWM constant current control input to drive and achieve high efficiency. This motor driver provides an abnormal detection output signal for Wired-OR notifying each protection circuit operation, which contributes to high reliability. It has a built-in spike noise cancellation function that reduces the noise levels to a considerable degree, thereby eliminating the need to use external noise filters.
This RoHS-compliant motor driver consists of thermal shutdown (TSD), over-current protection (OCP), under-voltage lockout (UVLO), and over-voltage lockout (OVLO) circuits to prevent false triggers or overload-related damages. It is available in a high heat-radiation surface-mount package that measures 9.7 x 6.4 x 1 mm and is ideal for plain paper copiers (PPC), multi-function printers, laser printers, inkjet printers, photo printers, FAX, and mini printer applications.
