The HL9750FN01 from Elevation Semiconductor is a Power Management IC that requires an input voltage of up to 26.5 V. It consists of MOSFET integrated with a synchronous rectifier (SR) controller and is designed for isolated flyback converter systems. This PMIC supports operation in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM), quasi-resonant (QR) mode, and continuous conduction mode (CCM) and uses a proprietary CCM SR-turn-off control algorithm to efficiently control the power delivered to the device. It integrates a control circuitry to turn on the gate of synchronous rectification (SR) MOSFET in the forward mode as well as turn off the gate when the current drops to a certain value.
This HL9750FN01 consists of an SR passive clamp circuit that pulls down the gate when the parasitic effects cause false turn-on of the SR MOSFET during start-up, thereby improving the reliability of the device. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 5 x 6 mm and is ideal for power adapters for portable devices, flyback power supplies with fixed or variable output voltage, and USB PD quick chargers for smartphones, feature phones, and tablet PC applications.
