The BD7694FJ from ROHM Semiconductor is a Power Factor Correction Controller IC that has been designed for AC/DC supplies and other systems that require power factor improvement. This PMIC requires an input voltage of 10 - 38 V. It operates based on the boundary conduction mode (BCM) and uses an auxiliary winding to enable zero current detection (ZCD), thereby reducing both switching-related losses and internal noise. This controller IC integrates an efficient MOSFET to provide a stable gate drive operation and consists of a dedicated circuit that lowers total harmonic distortion (THD) to improve system performance. It includes a soft-start function, an under-voltage lockout (UVLO), and short-circuit protection functions to prevent false triggers and over-current-related damages. The RoHS-compliant IC is available in a surface-mount package that measures 4.9 x 6.0 x 1.65 mm and is ideal for lighting equipment, AC adapter, TV, and refrigerator applications.
