The T30HM1TS2500 from onsemi is an Automotive-Qualified IEEE 802.3cg-Compliant Ethernet Transceiver that is ideal for automotive and industrial applications. It requires an input voltage of 3.3 V. This transceiver is a next-generation device that has an integrated media access controller (MACPHY). It can communicate with multiple nodes connected to a shared medium in half-duplex/multi-drop mode at a data rate of 10 Mbps. This AEC-Q100-qualified transceiver uses CSMA/CD MAC and PHY scheme with physical layer collision avoidance (PLCA) to prevent collisions at the physical layer and improve the throughput of CSMA/CD. It features topology discovery (TC14 compliant) and time stamping (TC16 compliant) functionalities.
This Ethernet transceiver also includes other capabilities such as signal quality index (SQI) measurements, harness defect detection (HDD), and coordinator redundancy for enhanced data delivery. The MDI pins integrated with this transceiver are protected against ±6 kV electrostatic discharge (ESD) and transient pulses, thereby ensuring safety and high reliability. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 4 x 4 mm.
