The KTS1642QGDV-TR from Kinetic Technologies is an Automotive Qualified Load Switch IC that has been designed to protect loads from abnormal power supply or load problems. It requires an input voltage of 4 - 40 V. This power switch IC exhibits very low resistance and is electronically controlled with enhanced protection features to protect the system from reverse input voltage levels down to -28 V. It integrates two N-Channel MOSFETs and includes a fixed over-voltage protection up to 20.3 V along with over-temperature protection with auto-retry. This load switch has an ENABLE pin that allows the MOSFET switch to be enabled or disabled and a fault FLAG pin to monitor system status. It also includes an input voltage detection option to indicate that the battery or power supply is connected. 

This power switch has built-in over-temperature shutdown and the input pin is fully ESD-protected to comply with the IEC61000-4-2 (Level 4) specification, thereby preventing over-heating-related damages. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 4 x 4 x 0.75 mm and is ideal for reverse power supply protection, telecom/server/networking systems, industrial and medical systems, and portable instrumentation applications.
