The SAF TRAKe from SAF Holland is an Electric Axle that has been specially developed to meet the stringent requirements of heavy load traffic and make commercial vehicles, greener, quieter, and more efficient. It delivers a continuous output power of 60 kW, a peak output power of 120 kW, and provides a torque of up to 320 Nm (1933 Nm per wheel). This electric axle consists of a central gearbox unit and a liquid-cooled permanent magnet synchronous motor (PSM). It uses recuperation technique to recover the energy, thereby reducing fuel consumption, carbon, and particulate emission, and making commercial vehicles more eco-friendly.

The SAF TRAKe also operates with a more powerful high voltage e-machine delivering a higher power output, which helps to power the truck and supports the main engine when the vehicle pulls away and accelerates. It offers greater traction and stability for the articulated truck, even in challenging road conditions and on slopes. This e-axle receives the electrical energy and stores it in a Li-ion battery to operate units integrated to the axle or to support the main engine of the truck. It is ideal for silos, dump trailer, food tanker, and refrigerated trailer applications.
