What is a DC to AC Inverter?

A DC-AC inverter is an electronic device that converts direct current (DC) power into alternating current (AC) power. It takes input from a DC power source, such as a battery or a solar panel, and produces AC power that can be used to run AC-powered devices and appliances.

The primary function of a DC-AC inverter is to enable the use of AC-powered equipment in applications where only DC power is available or preferred. In off-grid solar systems, for example, an inverter is used to convert the DC power generated by solar panels into AC power that can be used to run household appliances.
