The INN3629C-H606-TL from Power Integrations is an Off-Line CV/CC QR Flyback Switcher IC that has been designed to dramatically simplify the design and manufacture of flyback power converters, particularly those requiring high efficiency and/or compact size. It requires an input voltage of 85 - 580 V and provides an output voltage of 3 - 24 V. This power management IC (PMIC) consists of MOSFETs, logic gates, receiver controller, op-amps, line interface, LDO regulator, auto-restart counter, capacitors, feedback driver, detector, cable drop/feedback compensation, timing circuit, control logic, and protection circuitries. It is capable of providing high efficiency across the load range and uses PowiGaN technology to deliver an output power of up to 100 W (without heat sinks). This PMIC incorporates a mechanism to force switching when the voltage across the primary switch is near its minimum voltage under discontinuous conduction mode (DCM). It automatically disables the DCM mode and switches to continuous conduction mode (CCM) mode when the mode of operation is changed.
This switcher IC has built-in reinforced isolation with an isolation voltage of over 4000 V (AC). It ensures excellent noise immunity and enables designs that achieve class A performance criteria for EN61000-4 suite, EN61000-4-2, 4-3 (30 V/m), 4-4, 4-5, 4-6, 4-8 (100 A/m), and 4-9 (1000 A/m). This IC uses an external resistor to accurately adjust the output current and offers excellent multi-output, cross-regulation with weighted secondary side regulation feedback link. It is equipped with over-current limiting, output over-voltage protection (OVP), under-voltage lockout (UVLO), and over-temperature shutdown to prevent short-circuit or over-heating-related damages. This RoHS-compliant IC is available in a surface-mount package that measures 9.40 x 10.80 mm and is ideal for auxiliary, standby, and bias power supplies for appliances, computers, and consumer products, utility meters, and smart grid applications.
