VIPERGAN50TR Image

The VIPERGAN50TR from STMicroelectronics is a High Voltage Converter IC designed for medium power quasi-resonant ZVS (Zero Voltage Switching at switch turn-on) flyback converters. It requires an input voltage of 9-23 V and a quiescent current of up to 900 mA. This PMIC delivers an output power of less than 50 W. It integrates a complete set of functionalities that provide a very flexible and easy-to-use chip, and helps to design a highly efficient offline power supply. This IC supports feed-forward compensation to help minimise the maximum output peak power variation over the entire input voltage range.

This flyback converter is equipped with protection circuits such as overload protection (OLP), over-temperature protection (OTP), over-voltage protection (OVP), and brown-in/brown-out protection to protect the IC from damage. It also includes a frequency jitter mechanism to suppress electromagnetic interference (EMI). This converter is available in a surface-mount package that measures 5 x 6 mm and is ideal for power adapters, fast battery chargers, lighting, consumer, and industrial applications.
