Astemo’s motors and inverters have been adopted for Nissan Motor's (hereafter “Nissan”) new electric powertrain and are equipped in the “Nissan LEAF” model launched in the North American market in 2025.
This electric powertrain unit is supplied by system integrator JATCO Ltd (hereafter “JATCO”), to which we deliver the motors and inverters as components.
The electric powertrain for the Nissan LEAF significantly improves driving range through efficient energy management, achieved by its “3-in-1” powertrain that integrates three key components: the motor, inverter, and reduction gear.
The motors supplied for this project leverage our long-cultivated expertise in magnetic circuit design, material development, and manufacturing technology to achieve low noise and low vibration. Furthermore, the inverters employ our proprietary dual-sided cooling power modules, enabling low-loss, high-efficiency operation. These features contribute to enhanced quietness, driving stability, and improved energy efficiency for the Nissan LEAF's electric unit.
