Recom Power, a pioneering leader in power supply solutions, has once again seized the spotlight with the launch of its latest innovation, the RACM06E-K/277. This breakthrough AC/DC converter is set to redefine industry standards with its exceptional features and compact 1" x 1" form factor.

This board-mount, through-hole module accepts inputs from 80–305 VAC (120–430 VDC) for worldwide nominals from 100–277 VAC, and output options are 3.3 V, 5 V, 12 V, 15 V, or 24 VDC. The thermally optimized design of the module enables operation over a wide temperature range, from -40°C to +90°C, with a full load rating of up to 60°C. Over-temperature and output short circuit/over-voltage protection are provided, while an MTBF of nearly 2 million hours at 25°C and a design life of 43,000 hours ensure trouble-free operation over long periods.

Certifications for the RACM06E-K/277 are comprehensive and include IEC/EN 62368-1 for IT/multimedia, IEC/EN 60335 for household, and IEC/EN/ANSI/AAMI 60601-1 for medical, where 2MOPP isolation is achieved, along with less than 0.1 mA touch current for body floating (BF) patient connect applications. ‘Class B’ EMC specifications are met with a good margin, with a floating output.

The RACM06E-K/277 is rated for operation to 5000m in over-voltage category II (OVCII) environments according to IEC/EN 62368-1 and to 3000m for OVCIII environments according to IEC 61558-2-16. The part is encapsulated with a plastic casing, the case size is 25.6 x 25.6 x 16.6 mm, and the weight is just 20 grams.

This miniature AC/DC solution is ideal for small, portable devices that require an AC supply in various global environments. It can also be considered for a variety of other uses, such as an economical and convenient auxiliary supply in larger power conversion equipment or to power IoT nodes.
