Micro Commercial Components Unveils 5000 W TVS Diodes for Power Management

Micro Commercial Components has introduced its latest line of 5000 W transient voltage suppression (TVS) diodes, offering robust protection against transient voltage spikes and electrostatic discharge (ESD). These new TVS diodes are designed to shield sensitive electronic components from potential damage caused by lightning, electrical disturbances, and ESD events, thereby extending the lifespan of devices.

The new TVS series covers a wide voltage range from 11 V to 400 V and features a compact SMC package that optimizes board space while maintaining high performance. The diodes incorporate glass-passivated junction technology, ensuring durability and reliability in challenging environments with operating junction temperatures of up to 175°C. Additionally, they provide IEC 61000-4-2 ESD protection ratings of 30kV for both air and contact discharge.

Engineered for quick response, the diodes offer capacitance typically below 3,000 pF, ensuring rapid clamping action to prevent overvoltage damage. With leakage currents as low as 2 µA above 11V, they also help reduce power loss, making them an efficient solution for protecting circuits.

Available in both unidirectional and bidirectional configurations, the 5000 W TVS diodes cater to diverse applications, from telecommunications to industrial automation. Their compact design makes them suitable for space-constrained applications such as portable electronics, gaming consoles, networking equipment, and robotics.

The new TVS diodes are now available, with various models including the 5.0SMLJ33CAL, 5.0SMLJ24CAL, and 5.0SMLJ58CAL, supporting different voltage requirements.
