Lectron's NACS & CCS Fast-Charging Adapters Pass UL 2252 Testing

Lectron, a leading provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, announces that its DC fast-charging adapters for the North American Charging Standard (NACS) and Combined Charging System (CCS) have successfully passed UL 2252 testing.

The Lectron Vortex Plus (NACS to CCS adapter) and CCS to NACS adapter were tested and certified by SGS, a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL). Certification under UL 2252 confirms that both adapters meet rigorous benchmarks for electrical safety, thermal performance, and mechanical durability.

As the EV industry moves toward broader adoption of the NACS (SAE J3400) connector, interoperability between charging standards is critical. Lectron's certified adapters support this transition by allowing EV drivers to access a wider range of DC fast-charging networks, regardless of whether their vehicle uses a NACS or CCS inlet.

UL 2252 was officially published and approved on March 19, 2025. As the first safety standard of its kind for DC fast-charging adapters, it establishes baseline compliance requirements that are expected across automakers, suppliers, and retail partners.

UL 2252 Certified Lectron Adapters:

  • Vortex Plus (NACS to CCS)
    • Enables non-Tesla EVs to fast charge at over 15,000 Tesla Supercharger locations across the U.S.
    • Features automaker-approved interlock design for secure, reliable charging.
  • CCS to NACS Adapter
    • Enables Tesla and NACS-equipped vehicles to connect to any CCS DC fast charger.

"UL 2252 certification confirms what our customers expect from Lectron: safe, reliable, and future-ready technology," said Christopher Maiwald, CEO of Lectron. "These adapters demonstrate our commitment to performance and quality across all charging standards."
