24M Unveils ETOP Technology to Revolutionize Battery Pack Design

24M has introduced its groundbreaking ETOP technology, a bold reimagining of lithium-ion battery architecture that promises to deliver unmatched energy density and cost efficiency across energy applications.

Traditional lithium-ion cells are burdened by a significant fraction of inactive materials—metals, plastics, and other components that do not contribute to energy storage. These materials not only reduce energy density but also inflate costs and environmental waste. 24M’s ETOP technology eliminates the need for individual cells and modules by integrating electrodes directly into the battery pack.

The packs can be flexibly configured and made into different sizes to maximize efficiency and performance. This innovative system allows manufacturers to achieve the highest energy density available at the pack level — and cuts costs.

The architecture enables simple series and parallel connections, allowing configurations from compact 48V units up to 400–800V packs. Formation can also be performed in series, lowering equipment costs—one of the largest capital burdens in today’s battery factories.

ETOP integrates seamlessly with 24M’s other innovations, including the Impervio separator, Eternalyte electrolyte, and LiForever electrode, all aimed at delivering safer, longer-lived, and higher-performing batteries. Together, these technologies represent a reimagining of the battery from the inside out, offering a path to lower-cost EVs with greater range, safety, and design versatility.
