Chauron Technology: Advancing High-Speed Fuse Protection for New Energy Systems

Chauron Technology is pushing the frontiers of new energy power systems and circuit protection in the new energy era. With a strong focus on ultra-fast fuses, Chauron provides innovative solutions tailored for electric vehicles, energy storage systems, EV charging infrastructure, and data centres—helping to ensure safety, stability, and performance in demanding power environments.

Founded in 2018, Chauron specialises in advanced fuse technologies intended to safeguard modern power systems. Their patented Pyrofuse technology can interrupt fault currents in as little as 0.2 ms, making it well-suited for high-voltage, high-current applications. The firm operates two automated manufacturing facilities and a CNAS-accredited testing laboratory. Led by Dr. Dai, Chauron participates actively in industry standardisation and holds over 40 proprietary intellectual property rights.

Product Portfolio & Applications

Chauron Technology’s product portfolio is centred around delivering high-performance, ultra-fast fuse solutions that ensure the protection and reliability of modern power systems. The company’s offerings are widely used across electric vehicles, energy storage systems, charging stations, photovoltaic installations, and industrial power electronics, addressing the growing demand for safety, speed, and precision in high-power environments.

The Pyrofuse Series stands as Chauron’s flagship innovation in ultra-fast circuit protection. Designed for high-voltage and high-current applications, these fuses use a pyrotechnic actuation mechanism capable of interrupting fault currents in less than a millisecond. Models such as the SPF-1, SPF-2, SPF-3, and SPF-4A support voltage ratings up to 1000 VDC and breaking capacities exceeding 30 kA. With low internal resistance, minimal energy loss, and hermetically sealed construction, they provide stable performance even under severe thermal and mechanical stress. These fuses are ideal for use in electric vehicle battery disconnect units (BDUs), high-voltage distribution boxes, and traction inverters.

The EV Series is specifically engineered to safeguard traction and auxiliary circuits in electric vehicles. Featuring models such as SEV-10PD, SEV-16H, SEV-24J, and SEV-30JC, this series is optimized to handle rapid current surges during acceleration and regenerative braking phases. Operating in voltage ranges between 500 VDC and 1000 VDC, these fuses combine high-speed fault interruption (under 1 ms) with strong vibration resistance and compact design. They meet ISO 8820 and IEC 60269-7 standards, providing dependable protection for EV batteries, inverters, and DC/DC converters.

For large-scale and residential energy storage systems, Chauron’s SES Series offers reliable safety assurance through precise fault interruption and thermal stability. The SES-30JC, SES-38JM, SES-43F, and SES-51F models operate at voltages up to 1500 VDC and are characterised by their low I²t energy let-through and arc-quenching construction. These fuses are widely implemented in battery energy storage systems (BESS), PV-integrated storage units, and microgrid installations to prevent overcurrent and short-circuit events, enhancing both operational efficiency and system longevity.

As high-power EV charging infrastructure continues to expand, Chauron’s Charging Pile Series provides dependable protection for both AC and DC fast-charging systems. Designed to handle outputs between 350 kW and 600 kW, these fuses utilise low-power loss materials and exhibit superior rupture withstand capability. Their compact form factor allows easy integration into modular charger designs while ensuring consistent performance and safety in demanding public charging environments.

In addition to its core product lines, Chauron offers custom and OEM fuse development services, enabling clients to co-engineer protection solutions suited for hybrid systems, industrial converters, and next-generation traction applications. Supported by an in-house CNAS-accredited testing laboratory, the company can accelerate product validation and certification, delivering tailored solutions that meet international standards and market needs.

Looking ahead, Chauron Technology plans to enhance its fuse technologies with intelligent monitoring features, enabling real-time diagnostics and predictive protection. The company is also developing products for higher voltage and current applications, supporting grid-scale storage, solid-state transformers, and next-generation EV systems.

To strengthen its global presence, Chauron is pursuing international certifications such as UL, CE, and TÜV, and expanding into Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia. Through continuous innovation and global collaboration, Chauron aims to become a trusted partner in advancing safe, reliable, and efficient electrification worldwide.
