BluE Nexus Introduces High-Integration 1-Motor Hybrid Drive Technology

BluE Nexus is strengthening its presence in automotive electrification with its 1-Motor Hybrid Vehicle (HV) drive technology, a compact and highly integrated motor solution engineered to enhance fuel efficiency, drivability, and system scalability in hybrid powertrains. The technology reflects BluE Nexus’s system-level approach to electrification, combining mechanical, electrical, and control optimization within a single motor-centric hybrid architecture.

The 1-Motor HV system is designed around a single, multifunction electric motor that performs both traction assistance and power generation. Integrated directly into the hybrid drivetrain, the motor operates in close coordination with the internal combustion engine (ICE), enabling torque assist during acceleration, energy recuperation during deceleration, and efficient engine control across a wide range of driving conditions. This architecture delivers the benefits of electrification while minimizing system complexity and packaging requirements.

BluE Nexus has optimized the motor for high torque density and efficiency, enabling effective hybrid assistance without the need for a second motor. The motor is engineered to support frequent mode transitions, such as engine start/stop, regenerative braking, and torque blending, while maintaining smooth power delivery and low NVH characteristics. This contributes to both improved fuel economy and enhanced driving comfort, particularly in urban and stop-and-go operating conditions.

A key strength of the 1-Motor HV solution lies in its platform flexibility. BluE Nexus has developed the system to support multiple drivetrain layouts, including front-engine front-wheel drive (FF1M) and front-engine rear-wheel drive (FR1M) configurations. This adaptability allows OEMs to deploy the technology across a broad range of vehicle segments without extensive redesign of the base powertrain, reducing development time and cost.

The motor is integrated with the transmission and hybrid control system, enabling precise energy management between the engine, electric motor, and battery. This integration allows the system to maximize regenerative energy recovery, optimize engine operating points, and improve overall thermal and electrical efficiency. By consolidating functions into a single motor unit, BluE Nexus reduces component count, wiring complexity, and system mass—critical factors in meeting increasingly stringent emissions and fuel-efficiency regulations.

BluE Nexus’s 1-Motor HV technology complements the company’s broader electrification portfolio, which includes 2-Motor hybrid systems and fully electric eAxle solutions. Together, these technologies provide automakers with a scalable pathway from conventional hybridization to full battery electric vehicle architectures, supporting diverse electrification strategies across global markets.

As hybrid vehicles continue to play a central role in the transition toward carbon neutrality, BluE Nexus’s 1-Motor HV solution highlights the importance of highly integrated, motor-centric designs that balance performance, efficiency, and manufacturability.
