275 MWh Charging Infrastructure for Light, Medium and Heavy-Duty Passenger EVs

The Volt Vault EV charging series from U.S. Energy is designed to deliver reliable, off-grid charging powered by natural gas, propane, or renewable natural gas (RNG). This development addresses critical needs for fleet operators facing grid limitations, enabling rapid deployment for last-mile delivery vans, medium-duty trucks, and even passenger EVs without costly infrastructure upgrades.

Volt Vault Classic Models

The flagship Classic series consists of robust, trailer-mounted systems engineered for high-capacity, continuous-duty EV charging in demanding environments like construction sites, ports, or remote depots. These units integrate powerful natural gas generators—such as a 180 kW engine—directly into a 40-foot trailer, generating clean power on-site while supporting multiple vehicles simultaneously.

  • Level 2 Classic: Equipped with 16 ports delivering 9.6 kW each (totaling 153.6 kW output), it's optimized for overnight charging of lighter fleet vehicles like delivery vans, ensuring full batteries by morning without grid reliance.

  • Level 3 Classic: Features 2 high-power ports at 87.5 kW each (up to 175 kW total), tailored for rapid recharges of medium- and heavy-duty trucks, slashing downtime in high-throughput operations.

  • Flex Classic: A hybrid configuration blending 6-8 Level 2 ports (9.6 kW each) with 2 adjustable Level 3 ports (24-40 kW), ideal for mixed fleets requiring versatile charging speeds in one unit.

The Classic's durable design includes weatherproof enclosures, advanced cooling, and seamless integration with fleet management software for real-time monitoring.

Volt Vault Lite Model

Launched in February 2026, the new Lite model shrinks the footprint to a compact 22-foot trailer, towable by a standard mid-sized pickup truck for unmatched mobility and a swift 4-month lead time. Powered flexibly by propane, natural gas, or RNG, it offers predictable kWh costs insulated from utility rate hikes, making it perfect for temporary pop-up charging stations or seasonal fleet needs.

  • Level 3 Lite: Supplies 2 ports at up to 60 kW total (configurable to 30 kW per port), enabling fast charging for light- to medium-duty trucks and passenger vehicles with minimal setup—just park, connect fuel, and charge.

With its emphasis on plug-and-play simplicity and low emissions, the Lite model empowers businesses to scale EV adoption swiftly, even in grid-scarce areas.
