The BD14000EFV-CH2 from ROHM Semiconductor is an Automotive Qualified Cell Balancer IC that is ideal for renewable energy power storage for automotive, production machinery, building machinery, UPS, and stabilizer applications. It requires an input voltage of 8 - 24 V. This battery management IC (BMIC) is designed as a self-controlled cell balancer while presenting large-scale integration features. It includes a built-in shunt-type power storage element balancer function that can respond to 4 to 6 cells. This BMIC can be used for electric double-layer capacitors (EDLC) with cell detection voltage ranging from 2.4 V to 3.1 V and power storage capacitors with similar electrical characteristics. It has multiple over-voltage detection functions and also detects abnormal conditions such as deterioration in cells. This AEC-Q100 qualified BMIC is available in a surface-mount package that measures 10 x 7.6 x 1 mm.
