The ACS37630 Series from Allegro MicroSystems are Automotive-Qualified Bidirectional Current Sensor ICs that are ideal for high-voltage traction motor inverter for xEVs, 48 V/12 V auxiliary inverter, power distribution units, battery disconnect units, green energy, power supply, and smart fuse applications. They require an input voltage of 5 V. These current sensors are designed to measure current in applications where the current flows through a busbar or PCB board. They are based on the vertical Hall Effect technology that senses the current flowing along the parallel-to-package surface and when used with a U-core, the sensors provide high immunity to stray field, amplifies the signal, and simplifies the mechanical assembly relative to traditional C-core current sensors. These ICs have a sensitivity of 4 mV/G over a temperature range from -40°C to +150°C.
These AEC-Q100 Grade 0-qualified current sensors also include a factory-programmed temperature compensation mechanism that ensures low thermal drift sensitivity of ±0.7% during measurements. They are available in surface-mount packages that measure 4.9 x 6 mm.
