The CT4032-A20BSWF from Allegro MicroSystems is an Automotive-Qualified Linear Current Sensor that is ideal for power inverters, UPS, switched-mode power supply, telecom power supply, consumer/enterprise electronics, and motor control applications. It has a current measurement range of ±20 A with a sensitivity of 100 mV/A over a bandwidth of 500 kHz. This AEC-Q100 Grade 1-qualified differential sensor utilizes tunneling magnetoresistive (TMR) technology, which enables common-mode field rejection to cancel out stray magnetic fields. When the current signal is applied to the primary conductor, it generates a differential magnetic field internally, providing a proportional voltage output. The resistance of the primary conductor is 1 milli-ohm, allowing the sensor to withstand high inrush current and minimize power loss.
The pins of both the primary conductor and sensor leads are galvanically isolated, thereby eliminating the need for separate isolation techniques. This RoHS-compliant sensor also provides resistance to high dV/dt transients, which results in cleaner and accurate output measurements. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 10.30 x 10.30 mm.
