The LS1205EFD33 from Littelfuse is an eFuse IC that is ideal for HDD and SSD drives, adapter-powered devices, notebook/PC, FAN control, and networking applications. It requires an input voltage of 2.7-18 V and provides an output current of less than 5 A. This eFuse has a clamping voltage of 14.4 V and has extremely low drain-source resistance. It uses a few external components and provides multiple protection modes. This eFuse sets the current limit level with a single external resistor and protects input over-voltage events using internal clamp circuitry. It provides defense against overload, short circuit, input voltage surge, and excessive inrush current.

This eFuse has a programmable soft-start to control the slew rate of the output voltage and to limit inrush current during plug-in. It integrates a thermal fold-back function and over-temperature shutdown protection. This eFuse is available in a surface-mount package that measures 3 x 3 mm.
