The 6EDL7141 from Infineon Technologies is a Three-Phase Smart Gate Driver IC that has been designed for BLDC or PMSM motor drive applications. It requires an operational supply voltage of 5.5 - 60 V. This gate driver includes a dual charging pump, 3 current sense amplifiers, synchronous buck converter, DVDD linear regulator, and protection circuits. It supports a 3.3/5 V digital and programmable SPI digital interface. The current sense amplifiers are integrated for accurate current measurements that support bidirectional low-side current sensing with programmable gain. It provides three half-bridge drivers, each capable of driving a high-side and low-side N-type MOSFET.
The RoHS-compliant gate driver is equipped with built-in over-current protection with a configurable threshold, fault communication, automatic fault clearing, and under-voltage lockout (UVLO) to detect and prevent false triggers and damages. This is available in a surface-mount package that measures 7 x 7 mm and is ideal for battery-powered power tools and gardening tools, robotic lawn mowers, e-bikes, robotics, RC toys, consumer drones and multi-copters, pumps and fans and 3-phase BLDC and PMSM motor applications.
