The STDRIVE102BH from STMicroelectronics is a Triple Half-Bridge Gate Driver that is ideal for driving 3-phase brushless motors. It requires an operating voltage of 6-50 V. This driver IC features programmable gate current with current capability up to 1 A of source current and 2 A of sink current and drives six external N-channel power MOSFETs. This allows superior performance of the power stage and regulates the slew rate of power outputs without the need for external gate resistors.

This gate driver IC integrates three operational amplifiers and comparators. An integrated charge pump supplies the three high-side drivers, enabling unlimited on-time of the high-side MOSFETs. It is equipped with protection circuits such as undervoltage lockout (UVLO) on each supply (VCC, VDD, and charge pump voltage), thermal shutdown, and VDS monitoring on both high-side and low-side MOSFETs. This gate driver also incorporates a smart shutdown function, which allows immediate turn-off of the outputs of the gate driver in case of a fault. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 6 x 1 mm and is ideal for portable vacuum cleaners, e-bikes, industrial automation, robotics, pumps, fans and battery-supplied power tools.
