The MF72-006D20 from Cantherm is a Power Negative Temperature Coefficient Thermistor that has been designed to provide inrush current suppression for sensitive electronics. It has a current rating of up to 6 A and a resistance of 113 milli-ohms. This thermistor can be connected in series with a power source to limit current surges typically created during turn-on events. It decreases its resistance value to a very low value once the circuit is energized while causing no effect on the normal operating current. This current limiter delivers a fast response to current surges with high power handling capability in a small form factor. It is available in a through-hole package that measures 22.5 x 7 mm and is ideal for energy-saving lamps, electronic ballasts, UPS, heaters, filament protection, and power supplies, and inverter applications.
