The MF72-012D25 from Cantherm is a Power Negative Temperature Coefficient Thermistor that provides inrush current suppression for sensitive electronic components. It has a current rating of 6 A and a resistance of 12 ohms. This thermistor can limit turn-on current surges in a circuit by connecting it to a power source.  It undergoes a rapid decrease in resistance to a very low value once the circuit is energized, thereby resulting in negligible power consumption and no effect on normal operating current. This current limiter can be used to curb surge current and protective components from damage while maintaining low cost. It is available in a through-hole package that measures 27.5 x 8 mm and is ideal for heaters, power supplies, inverters, energy-saving lamps, electronic ballasts, filament protection, and UPS applications.
