The PTCCL05H100SBE from Vishay is a Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) Thermistor that is ideal for over-temperature/overload protection for metering, low current signal protection, and digital signal protection against over-voltage conditions. It has a voltage rating of up to 600 V and a current rating of less than 10 mA. This thermistor has a resistance of 1600 ohms. It is connected in series with the test instrument to limit the over-load current by switching itself to a high-resistance state, thereby providing over-load protection to the connected equipment. This RoHS-compliant thermistor automatically returns to a low-resistance state when the overload is removed, making it ready to resume its protective function. It is available in a through-hole package that measures 30.4 x 5 mm.
