The LED6000 from STMicroelectronics is a Step-Down Monolithic Switching Regulator designed for driving high-brightness LEDs in a wide range of industrial and lighting applications. It requires an input voltage of 4.5-61 V. This LED driver integrates an internal power MOSFET with a typical RDS(ON) of 250 milli-ohms. It supports up to 3 A of DC output current with an excellent regulation accuracy of ±3%. This LED driver features a dedicated DIM pin for digital PWM dimming, allowing accurate and fast brightness control over a wide dimming range. It has an adjustable switching frequency from 250 kHz-1.5 MHz.

This LED driver integrates comprehensive protection features, including programmable peak current limiting, output short-circuit protection, thermal shutdown with auto-recovery, soft-start control, and low-dropout operation for high duty-cycle conditions. It offers low quiescent current operation and an optional VBIAS pin to improve efficiency under light-load conditions. This LED driver is available in a surface-mount package that measures 6.6 x 5.1 x 1.2 mm, and is ideal for halogen bulb replacement and HB LED driving applications.
