The A89347 from Allegro MicroSystems is an Automotive-Qualified Motor Driver IC that is ideal for pumps, cooling fans, 12 V/48 V smart actuators, and HVAC applications. It requires an input voltage of 40 V. This IC has been designed to drive three-phase, sensorless fans and eliminates the need for bulky and expensive Hall effect-based sensors. The design of this IC also ensures inherent capabilities such as silent and efficient operation and allows users to customize the controllability of fans in motors. It consists of low drain-source on-resistance power MOSFETs. This AEC-Q100-qualified motor driver supports either pulse width modulation (PWM) or analog speed input and performs sinusoidal modulation to reduce audible noise and vibration for enhanced efficiency.
This driver IC uses a built-in EEPROM memory to configure the speed curves. The IC includes an exposed thermal pad for the heat sink and is available in a surface-mount package.
