The 30-8405 COMBINED CHARGING UNIT from AEM Electronics is an Integrated On-Board Charger that is designed to convert an AC voltage of 90-264 V to a DC output of 350 V. It also includes a DC-DC converter that converts an input voltage of 9-16 V to an output voltage of 11-16 V. This liquid-cooled on-board charger (OBC) offers a rated output power of 6.6 kW and achieves an efficiency of up to 93.5%. It combines the functions of an OBC and a DC-DC converter into a single module to simplify the EV drive system.  

The On-Board Charger (OBC) draws 120V or 240V AC power from the grid and converts it into high-voltage DC to charge the vehicle’s main battery pack. The DC-DC converter then steps down this high voltage to a low voltage to keep the 12V battery charged. Both the OBC and DC-DC converter are controlled via the vehicle control unit (VCU) through CAN communication. It has advanced protection features that include over/under voltage, short circuit, and over-temperature protections. This IP67-rated OBC weighs 5.5 kg and measures 330.0 x 255.0 x 68.5 mm.
