The NV6427 from Navitas Semiconductor is a Bidirectional Switch that is capable of blocking voltage in both directions. It requires an input voltage of up to 6.5 V (for gate drive). This switch is an optimized solution that operates in 4 quadrants. It integrates a monolithic substrate clamping circuit between each source and utilizes Navitas’ substrate clamp technology to automatically clamp the source-to-substrate voltage. This technology optimizes switching performance during 4-quadrant operation in both directions unlike a floating substrate switch, which suffers a back-gating effect.
This bidirectional switch also implements a thermally-enhanced, top-cooled functionality with gull-wing leads to ensure excellent board-level temperature cycling. It has a zero reverse recovery charge of up to 2 MHz for high efficiency. This RoHS-compliant switch is available in a surface-mount package that measures 9.70 x 10.00 mm and is ideal for bidirectional zero voltage scaling (ZVS) cyclo-converter topologies, AC-AC motor drives and matrix converters, and solar micro-inverter applications.
