The NV6428 from Navitas Semiconductor is a Bidirectional Switch that is capable of blocking voltage in both directions. It requires an input voltage of up to 6.5 V (for gate drive). This power switch has a continuous source-to-source voltage of 650 V and a transient source-to-source voltage of 800 V. It has a gate threshold voltage of 2.8 V, gate-source leakage current of 160 µA and a total gate charge of 7.51 nC. This power switch integrates a monolithic substrate clamping circuit between each source and utilizes Navitas’ substrate clamp technology to automatically clamp the source-to-substrate voltage. It also implements a thermally enhanced, top-cooled SMD with a gull wing that ensures excellent board-level temperature cycling. This RoHS/REACH-compliant power switch has a zero reverse recovery charge of up to 2 MHz for high efficiency. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 9.70 x 14.80 mm and is ideal for bidirectional zero voltage scaling (ZVS) cyclo-converter topologies, AC-AC motor drives and matrix converters, solar micro-inverter and next-gen bi-directional topologies applications.
