The NCP382LD05AAR2G from onsemi is a High-Side Power Distribution Switch IC that is ideal for laptops, TVs, and USB (port/hubs) applications. It requires an input voltage of 2.5-5.5 V and an input current of ±0.5 µA. This power switch has been designed for applications where heavy capacitive loading and short-circuit conditions are likely to be encountered. It includes a single input with dual outputs and has an 80 milli-ohm P-channel MOSFET. It limits the output current to a safe level by switching itself to a constant-current mode when the output load exceeds the current-limiting threshold (fixed internally). When switching, the power switch can also control the rise and fall times to minimize current ringing, thereby ensuring an enhanced switching efficiency. 

This power distribution switch has a FLAG pin that asserts during heavy capacitive loads, short-circuits, and over-current events. The switch also turns OFF the high-side MOSFETs under over-temperature and under-voltage conditions. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 4.8 x 5.8 mm.
