The INN4174C-H190 from Power Integrations is an Off-Line CV/CC ZVS Flyback-Based Load Switch IC designed to dramatically improve the efficiency of flyback power converters. This switch requires an input voltage of 85 - 264 V. It delivers an output power of 155 W in adapter mode (typical non-ventilated enclosed adapter) and 170 W in open frame mode. This switch integrates both primary and secondary controllers that are magnetically coupled to each other in conjunction with a safety-rated feedback system. It is combined with an active clamp IC that results in reduced system and primary switch losses, thereby allowing extremely high power densities.
This switch provides a steady state switching frequency of up to 155 kHz. It uses an external sense resistor to adjust the output current and provides an option for latching fault response with auto-restart that ensures over-temperature protection. This RoHS-compliant power switch IC is available as a surface-mount package that measures 9.40 x 13.43 mm and is ideal for high-density flyback designs, high-efficiency USB PD adapters, and high-efficiency CV/CC power supply applications.
