The K2500E70RP2 from Littelfuse is a Sidac that is ideal for high-voltage power supplies, natural gas igniters, high-pressure sodium lamps, and xenon flash ignition applications. It has a break-over voltage of up to 280 V and a break-over current of less than 10 µA. This Sidac is a Silicon bilateral voltage-triggered switch that can handle a relatively higher power compared to standard diacs. It switches to a low on-state voltage through a negative resistance region upon exceeding the break-over voltage and continues conducting till the current is interrupted or drops below the minimum holding current of the device. This RoHS-compliant sidac features glass-passivated junctions to provide a robust solution that can tolerate abrasive situations. It is available in a through-hole package that measures 17.17 x 4.47 mm.
