The STC642-036 from Sola HD is a Dual Pair (Four Wire) Surge Protection Module that has been designed for data/signal line protection and conditioning. It requires an input voltage of 36 V. This surge protector is based on the three-stage hybrid technology and effectively addresses the problem of over-voltage transients with gas tubes and silicon avalanche components. It mitigates sneak and fault currents using resettable fuses (PTCs). This surge protector increases resistance by several orders of magnitude when the current exceeds safety limits and resumes back to a normal state when the current level goes below the limit. It has a self-restoration ability that significantly increases performance and survivability.

This surge protector IC is gold-plated, double-sided, and is designed to mate with the STC-642 gold-plated female terminal connector (sold separately). It includes data circuits that pass through the protector serially from the four field-side terminals to the four electronics-side terminals. This surge protector is available in a DIN-rail mount package that measures 2.05 x 1.05 x 2.4 inches.
