The TMOV34S571EP from Littelfuse is a Thermally Protected Metal Oxide Varistor. It requires an AC voltage of less than 575 V, a DC voltage of up to 730 V, and a clamping voltage of less than 1480 V. This varistor integrates a thermally activated element that is designed to open when overheating occurs due to abnormal over-voltage or under limited current conditions. It uses a monitor lead that can be connected to the signaling circuitry to indicate if the metal-oxide varistor (MOV) has been disconnected from the circuit. This varistor provides a quick thermal response due to the proximity of the integrated thermal element to the MOV body. It has a low inductance than most discrete solutions to ensure an improved clamping performance despite fast over-voltage transients.
This RoHS-compliant varistor is available in a through-hole package that measures 37.0 x 47.5 x 15.9 mm and is ideal for SPD products, AC panel protection modules, UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply), inverters, and AC/DC power supply applications.
