High-Isolation SIP8 DC-DC Converters for Industrial and IoT Applications

Aimtec has introduced the AM1GU-LPZ and AM3GU-LPZ series, expanding its low-power DC-DC converter portfolio with compact, regulated SIP8 solutions for industrial, embedded, IoT, portable equipment, and distributed power applications. Designed for engineers working with limited board space, both series combine a small 22.0 x 9.5 x 12.0 mm footprint with wide input capability, high isolation, regulated outputs, and integrated protection features.

The AM1GU-LPZ provides up to 1W of output power, while the AM3GU-LPZ extends the same platform concept to 3W. Both series support a wide 4.5-36 VDC input range, helping simplify integration across common low-voltage DC architectures. With 3000 VDC isolation, regulated single and dual output options, continuous short circuit protection, overcurrent protection, input undervoltage protection, and low ripple and noise performance, the AM1GU-LPZ and AM3GU-LPZ are designed to deliver stable and dependable power in demanding low-power applications.

Output flexibility is a key advantage across the two series. The AM1GU-LPZ supports output voltage options from 5V to 24V, including dual-output configurations, making it suitable for designs requiring broader output coverage. The AM3GU-LPZ offers 5V to 15V output options, including +/- outputs, for applications requiring additional power while maintaining a compact SIP8 package. Both models are rated for -40°C to +85°C operating temperature performance and offer high reliability, with MTBF ratings of at least 1,000,000 hours. The AM3GU-LPZ also carries UL 62368-1 safety compliance, supporting use in equipment designs that require recognized safety standards.

By combining compact packaging, high isolation, regulated output performance, and built-in protection, the AM1GU-LPZ and AM3GU-LPZ provide practical low-power building blocks for modern electronic systems. They are well suited for industrial controls, embedded electronics, IoT devices, portable equipment, instrumentation, communications interfaces, and distributed power architectures where safety, size, and reliability are important.

The AM1GU-LPZ and AM3GU-LPZ give designers two compact, high-isolation SIP8 options for low-power DC-DC conversion.
