Diodes Launches 2 A Synchronous Buck Converter for Automotive Applications

Diodes Incorporated has unveiled the AP61204Q, a high-efficiency synchronous buck converter engineered specifically for automotive applications. The AP61204Q is an automotive-compliant buck converter with a wide input voltage range of 2.4V to 5.5V. The device fully integrates a 70mΩ high-side power MOSFET and a 50mΩ low-side power MOSFET to provide high-efficiency step-down DC-DC conversion.

The AP61204Q device is easily used by minimizing the external component count due to its adoption of Constant On-Time (COT) control to achieve fast transient response, easy loop stabilization, and low output-voltage ripple. It achieves up to 84% efficiency even under light 5 mA loads and boasts an impressively low quiescent current of just 19 µA. The AP61204Q is AEC-Q100 qualified and rated from -40°C to +125°C, making it suitable for stringent automotive requirements. It integrates protection features such as Undervoltage Lockout (UVLO), VIN Overvoltage Protection (OVP), Peak Current Limit, Valley Current Limit, and Thermal Shutdown, and includes a Power-Good indicator. The device is also fully RoHS compliant, lead-free, and eco-friendly (“Green”).
