The AP61204Q from Diodes Incorporated is an Automotive-Grade Synchronous Buck Converter that steps down an input voltage of 2.4-5.5 V to an output voltage of 0.6-5.5 V. It has a switching frequency of 2.4 MHz, a continuous output current of 2 A and provides an efficiency of up to 84%. This converter fully integrates a 70 milli-ohms high-side power MOSFET and a 50 milli-ohms low-side power MOSFET to provide high-efficiency step-down DC-DC conversion. It minimizes the external component count with the adoption of Constant On-Time (COT) control and achieves fast transient response, easy loop stabilization, and low output-voltage ripple.

This AEC-Q100 qualified converter consists of under-voltage lockout (UVLO), output over-voltage protection (OVP), cycle-by-cycle peak current limit, and thermal shutdown to prevent short-circuit-related damage. This RoHS-compliant converter is available in a surface-mount package that measures 1.70 x 1.70 x 0.18 mm and is ideal for automotive power systems, infotainment, instrument clusters, telematics, and advanced driver assistance systems applications.
